Chief Scientific Officer
Sophia Hartmann
Keeping the science exact, and making it readable
Sophia Hartmann leads science at Coreod. She holds the framework within which our matrices are read and our texts are written: levels of evidence, the line between assessment and diagnosis, and the accuracy of the scientific claims Coreod makes in public. She reports to Dr Élise Jabès, founder and CEO of Coreod.
Sophia Hartmann’s role
- Leadership of Coreod’s scientific fields: neuroscience, and the physiology of stress and sleep
- Review of the scientific claims Coreod makes in public, on its websites, in its documents and in its applications
- Grading of sources on four levels of evidence, A, B, C, D: only the first two can support a public claim
- Guarding the line between assessment and diagnosis: Coreod Insight is not a medical device and makes no diagnosis
- Design of Coreod’s research programmes and their protocols
- Monitoring of the international literature, so that our texts evolve as the science does
Who does what
In Coreod Insight, every role is distinct. Neo, our AI specialised in psychometric calculation, produces the calculations behind each matrix: the scoring of each scale and the integrated calculation that connects them. Prometheus writes the report in clear language. Sophia Hartmann holds the scientific framework they work within: what the science allows us to say, and what it does not.
A scientific claim goes out in Coreod’s name only when its level of evidence supports it, whether in a publication, a press release, a document for our partners or the content of our applications. Dr Élise Jabès, founder and CEO of Coreod, has the final word.
Say what the science allows. Not one word more.
Four levels of evidence
- A · Meta-analyses, peer-reviewed articles, reference psychometric instruments. Can support a public claim.
- B · Single peer-reviewed study, sound method. Can support a public claim, with sources cited.
- C · Grey literature, internal studies, observational data. Informs our work, never a public claim.
- D · Hypotheses and expert opinions not yet tested. Research only.
